Clarity of Identity
A clear understanding of who you truly are — soul, not role.
Peace & Meditation
Raja Yoga is a simple, open-eyed meditation with no rituals or mantras — an invitation to rediscover the peace, love and joy that already live within you.
A Moment of Peace
Feel a gentle sense of peace, spreading softly through you.
What is Raja Yoga?
We practice Raja Yoga meditation at the Brahma Kumaris. It is a form of meditation without rituals or mantras, practised with open eyes — versatile, simple and easy to practise anywhere and at any time, for one or many minutes.
Raja Yoga gives you a clear spiritual understanding of yourself, helps you re-discover and use the positive qualities already latent within you, and enables you to create new attitudes and responses to life from a place of inner peace, clarity and self-control.
You begin to remember things about yourself that you once knew but had long forgotten — to enjoy moments of silence, to be more present to life itself, and to experience the peace and joy that are your essential birthright.
“True silence is not a place without sound, but a place in which we experience a deep sense of peace and a pervasive awareness of our well-being.”
— Dadi Janki
Why Meditate?
Through the Raja Yoga meditation course you re-discover and use the positive
qualities already latent within you, responding to life from clarity and self-
control rather than reactivity. When we change, the world changes.
A clear understanding of who you truly are — soul, not role.
Balance and freedom from the pull of passing moods and reactions.
Inner power to respond to life from choice rather than reactivity.
A growing experience of peace and joy as your essential nature.
Increased inner security, happiness and love that need nothing outside.
Knowing how to establish a daily meditation practice and spiritual lifestyle.
How Does It Work?
Meditation is time taken for quiet reflection and silence — pausing, in the midst of chaos and commotion, to go inwards to a silent place of centred being.
01
Step out of the hustle and bustle. Arrive fully in this one moment.
02
Gently turn the attention inward, beyond the surface of thought.
03
Rest in the silence and let peace, your natural state, arise.
The Foundation Course
Yoga, in Sanskrit, means to completely know yourself and to be at peace in yourself. The Raja Yoga meditation course provides a framework for understanding who you truly are and the relationship between spirit and matter — a call to consciousness that enables you to change anything about yourself you would like to change.
The course consists of 3 to 7 lessons, sometimes offered as a series of one- or half-day retreats and sometimes as a series of shorter lessons. It is for individuals from all walks of life, looking to deepen their spiritual practice and improve the quality of their lives.
All Brahma Kumaris events are offered free of charge, in a welcoming, safe and non-judgemental environment. All are welcome.
